Position Description: Join our Basal Therapies team and contribute to the growth and development of children and their families in Frederick and surrounding communities. We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to play a vital role in providing clinic-based counseling services. This position offers an immediate start date, competitive compensation, and a supportive work environment.
As a licensed Mental Health Clinician, you will provide outpatient therapy services to children under 18. You will assist families in locating and utilizing community resources, agencies, and organizations to coordinate services. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with other developmental therapists to create and implement programs that cultivate treatment in a fun, comfortable, safe environment. to join our Basal Family as we grow!
Candidate must be either a LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC and have current state licensure. Open to strong LGPC or LMSW candidates and willing to provide in-house supervision. Experience in providing mental health therapy to children under 18 is ideal.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct Client Contact
- Provide therapeutic assessment and diagnosis evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support the child and family
- Collaborate with families, other therapists, and teachers to create a supportive and integrated therapeutic environment
- Provide direct therapy services, conduct regular progress monitoring, and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatment session notes, assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports
- Other Duties
- Help keep your caseload full by communicating your available openings to the Intake & Service Coordinator regularly
- Help develop new programs and/or services in collaboration with other team members and upper management.
- Be professional and courteous in all written and verbal communications with clients, colleagues and other business associates
- Follow legal, ethical and professional obligations of your respective Maryland governing Board
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social work or Professional Counseling
- Current and valid license to practice as a LCSW, LCSW-C, or LCPC or ability to operate under a Maryland-approved supervisor with a current and valid graduate license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work as an effective team member yet be independent as necessary. Exercise sound judgment and initiative
- Comfortable with computers and web-based apps. Our primary record-keeping, billing and scheduling system, is browser-based (we provide software training)
