Basal has been the best choice we have ever made for services for our son and their Preschool is truly the best! Its a small classroom setting with real one on one attention and developmental focuses for each student. Our son has also received Speech and Occupational Therapy both in the class and private services; these have a made a huge difference! Our son vocabulary grew daily and has started to form two work sentences, we have also see a wonderful improvement in his motor skills. I will always recommend Basal, its a real investment in your child’s development.

Parenting kiddos with special needs can often feel like a lonely undertaking, but since our girls started therapy at Basal, I finally feel like we have a team that has our backs. Our therapists have been beyond amazing and so beautifully achieve the perfect balance of research-based intervention while still treating our girls like the individuals they are. Our therapy team at Basal is also next level when it comes to collaboration with each other and our family in working towards the goal of our girls becoming the best versions of themselves. Our son had developmental delays at 1 year that we spoke with the pediatrician about getting him assistance. We worked remotely with the county, but it didn’t seem to help him. We were given Basal Therapies as a referral by a new pediatrician and they were able to get our son in for speech therapy quickly. Olivia has really helped to get our son to a speech level that is developmentally appropriate for his age. It will make him and us very sad when our son soon graduates from Basal Therapies. To the parent reading reviews, wondering if OT is necessary, beneficial, or if you’re “over reacting”, YOU’RE NOT. I promise you. And this is the best place for your child’s needs.

When I found Basal, my son and I were struggling to keep him fed and at weight. At 10 months, he wouldn’t touch food, coughed every time he ate, barely ate 3 oz of puree a day and rarely slept over 2 hrs at a time. Pediatricians dismissed my concerns and I put my son on the wait list for OT after the inevitable happened, we had a choking scare.

After our initial evaluation I had more answers than I had ever received from any Pediatrician visit we’d been to. I had confirmation that my son had an oral motor delay, a food aversion and possibly severe reflux. Answers to a daily battle for survival my son and I went through everyday, upwards of 3x a day, behind closed doors. All thanks to Holli at Basal.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Holli. Not only has she built my son’s confidence in eating in just five short months, she helped me build an intuitional relationship with him. We’ve made micro adjustments DAILY over video exchange and weekly appointments.

When my son picked up food, put it to his mouth, and worked to chew, all with a smile on his face, it was overwhelming. Thanks to Holli, I have unwavering confidence he will continue to make huge strides in eating and development. I can’t even begin to describe the positive impact it’s had on our life as a whole.

I never hesitate to reach out to her, almost daily with a video, a question or a concern. Each time, I’m met with knowledge and grace around expectations and implementation in order to help my son along his journey. She has always validated that she is my support system and I know my child best. Together we work towards his present needs along his journey.

If I hadn’t found Basal, and in turn found Holli, I would still be questioning my motherly instincts and it may have caused another choking incident. I only wish we had of found Basal sooner, even still it has been life changing for our family!

Basal Preschool is an amazing addition to our village. The care, love, and learning my son has received is unmatched. He is excited to go to school each day and loves to show us all the things he learned and did at school. We love to show him the pictures that are shared with us throughout the day. The communication between the school and home is great. Mrs. Angie and Mrs. Meghan are always responsive and honest. We truly love Basal and are so happy that our son gets to go there. Joining the Basal Therapies family has without a doubt been the best decision that we have made for our son. We had been receiving Early Intervention services for about 6 months for our son’s global developmental delays when we felt that we needed a more direct and intensive approach to support his unique needs.
